Maria Paula Mendieta holds a B.S. degree in Economics and a M.S. degree in Agricultural Economics. She worked for the Climate Change Division at the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development in Colombia as an economic advisor for the country’s Low Carbon Development Strategy and working in the identification and formulation of NAMAS. She was also part of the Colombian delegation for the UNFCCC where she negotiated topics related to mitigation and new market mechanisms. Maria Paula joined the Office of Evaluation and Oversight at the IDB in June 2013 to work in the Bank’s climate change evaluation. Specifically, Maria Paula was part of the team evaluating energy projects.
